RAFT: rectus abdominis fat transfer

Muscle amplification with ultrasound-guided fat grafting, with a published assessment of graft evolution.

RAFT is the ultrasound-guided fat transfer technique to the rectus abdominis muscle, to amplify abdominal muscle definition. The intramuscular graft evolution is evaluated in a published multicenter study in which Dr. Raúl Manzaneda Cipriani participates.

The publication

The technique is described in “Muscle Amplification With the Ultrasound-guided Rectus Abdominis Fat Transfer Technique: Assessment of Intramuscular Graft Evolution”, published in PRS Global Open (2025). It is a multicenter work (first author Viaro) in which Dr. Raúl Manzaneda Cipriani participates as co-author. The article is available at its official source: doi.org/10.1097/GOX.0000000000006877.

Where it sits in the portfolio

As with the rest of the portfolio, the key is ultrasound guidance: the graft is placed inside the muscle while seeing the plane in real time. It complements rib remodeling in torso contouring: one defines the bony waist, the other the abdominal muscle definition.

Frequently asked questions

What is RAFT in body contouring surgery?

Ultrasound-guided fat transfer to the rectus abdominis: an intramuscular graft to amplify abdominal definition.

What does the RAFT publication evaluate?

The evolution of the intramuscular graft over time, in a multicenter study published in PRS Global Open (2025) with Dr. Manzaneda as co-author.
