Rib Remodeling

Rib incurvation

The rib remodeling variant that narrows the waistline by incurving the costal arch, published and peer reviewed.

Rib incurvation is a variant of rib remodeling (RibXcar) that narrows the waistline by bringing the lower ribs to a new curvature, within the same family of incision-free, ultrasound-guided techniques developed by Dr. Raúl Manzaneda Cipriani.

The publication

The technique is described in “Waist Reduction Surgery by Rib Incurvation: A New Approach for Waist Narrowing”, published in PRS Global Open (2026). Its authors are Dr. Raúl Manzaneda Cipriani, Gerardo Adrianzén Núñez and Jorge Medina Gutiérrez. The article is available at its official source: doi.org/10.1097/GOX.0000000000007754.

Where it sits in the portfolio

It is an evolution within the RibXcar family: it keeps the principles of rib remodeling — controlled monocortical fracture, ultrasound guidance, no bone removal — applied through its own costal-arch incurvation approach.

Frequently asked questions

Does rib incurvation remove ribs?

No. Like the whole rib remodeling family, it repositions the lower ribs without removing bone and without an open approach.

Where is rib incurvation published?

In PRS Global Open (2026), with Dr. Raúl Manzaneda Cipriani as first author. The DOI is linked on this page.
