RibXcar

What is RibXcar

RibXcar is the name of rib remodeling (remodelación costal): a body-contouring technique that narrows the waist by reshaping the lower ribs through an ultrasound-guided monocortical fracture, without incisions and without removing ribs. It was created by Dr. Raúl Martín Manzaneda Cipriani (Lima, Peru) and first published in PRS Global Open in December 2023.

Where the name comes from

“RibXcar” is used both for the technique and for its dedicated instrument, the RibXcar Tip (“Manzaneda's Tool”), an adapted piezotome published in PRS Global Open (DOI 10.1097/GOX.0000000000005819) and distributed by Marina Medical.

Frequently asked questions

What is RibXcar?

RibXcar is the name of rib remodeling, a technique created by Dr. Raúl Manzaneda Cipriani that narrows the waist by reshaping the lower ribs through an ultrasound-guided monocortical fracture, without incisions and without removing ribs (PRS Global Open 2023, DOI 10.1097/GOX.0000000000005499).

Is RibXcar the same as rib removal?

No. Rib remodeling does not remove ribs: it repositions them through a fracture of a single bone cortex, preserving the bone structure.

Who created RibXcar?

Dr. Raúl Martín Manzaneda Cipriani, a Peruvian plastic surgeon, lead author of the foundational study published in PRS Global Open in December 2023.

Where do surgeons train in RibXcar?
