Who tends to be a good candidate
- People in good general health, without conditions that contraindicate surgery.
- Who want to reduce waist diameter by acting on the lower ribs.
- With realistic expectations about the result.
- Not pregnant or breastfeeding at the time of the procedure.
What the surgeon evaluates
Before recommending the technique, the surgeon evaluates the anatomy of the lower ribs (false and floating) —usually with ultrasound—, overall health status and the person's aesthetic goals. Based on that, they decide whether rib remodeling is appropriate and whether to combine it with other procedures.
Does it combine with other procedures?
In many cases rib remodeling is part of a broader body-contouring plan and can be combined with procedures such as liposuction, at the surgeon's discretion and according to each patient's needs.
Precautions
Like any surgery, it carries risks and requires an individual assessment. Certain health conditions may contraindicate it or require special management. That is why it must be recommended and performed by a surgeon specifically trained in the technique. More on safety → · Find a trained surgeon →
