Rib Remodeling

Results

What actually changes in the silhouette with rib remodeling, and what the evidence says.

Rib remodeling (RibXcar) reduces the waist diameter by repositioning the floating and false ribs —without removing bone or leaving external scars—. The degree of change depends on each person's anatomy and is assessed by the surgeon.

What changes in the silhouette

By curving the lower ribs into a new position, the costal arch —and with it the waist circumference— is narrowed. The effect is on the structure of the contour, not just on fat, which is why it is often combined with procedures such as liposuction according to the surgeon's plan.

When they become visible

The contour becomes visible as postoperative swelling subsides, in a process that varies for each patient. The surgeon supports that evolution in follow-up visits. See what recovery is like →

Permanence

Because the ribs are remodeled into a new position, the effect on the contour is structural. Mid-term results are documented in published follow-up cohorts (including a prospective cohort of 328 patients with one-year follow-up). Individual evolution is assessed by the treating surgeon.

Realistic expectations

Every body responds differently and the result depends on the starting anatomy. Having realistic expectations and choosing a trained surgeon are part of a good result. See the published evidence → · Find a trained surgeon →
